From your first welcoming drink, through to your final goodbye, the friendly staff will look after you so you can enjoy the 'MAGIC of snow' in this unique African environment. The mountain is the perfect place to escape from reality and enjoy a snowy, thrilling time. Built on the slopes of Eastern Cape’s highest mountain, Ben McDhui (3001 m), SA’s only ski-resort was established 1993. Snowmaking currently covers 1km of ski run for about 3 months of the year. Tiffindell has skilled instructors, ensuring that by the end of your stay, you will be able to move down the slopes with confidence and control. The resort hosts a prepared flat beginner area about 60m long. As you gain confidence, you will move onto the main slope. Private beginner, intermediate and advanced lessons are available on request.
The main slope is 1km long, and up to 300 skiers can hit the slopes daily.
Tiffindell accommodation is ideally suited to the icy weather: centrally heated Timber Chalets, budget accommodation in the lodge with communal facilities, or luxury 6/12 sleeper self-catering accommodation. If you’re looking to fill the belly, the aptly named ’Upper Limits’ serves English buffet breakfasts to a La Carte dinners, take-away lunches. Have Schnapps at SA’s highest pub "Ice Station 2720", watch the flame torch ski demonstration. At 'Yeti's Retreat Pub', sit by the fireside or party the night away. There is also a games room and childminding facility.Equipment is supplied at the ski hire, while a range of accessories, pharmaceutical goods is also available. There are medics on duty, with a first aid room, with a resident masseuse. There is MTN, Vodacom and Cell C coverage at the resort.
