| Wildlife Safaris in SA: Gauteng |
Although more popular as a destination for its big cities (Johannesburg and Pretoria), Gauteng has some spectacular botanical gardens, bird sanctuaries and nature reserves and not to mention a wealth of archaeological, paleontological and geological sites. Of particular cultural interest is the Cradle of Humankind and in particular Sterkfontein Caves, a world heritage site. What makes a Gauteng Safari special: The chances to roam with the animals while hitting the big city. If you’re looking to tie in a city tour with wildlife and safari, there are some rather unique safari lodges and parks in the Gauteng region.
